The Utah Home Performance Program with ENERGY STAR® offers a comprehensive, whole-house approach to home improvement that results in better energy efficiency, greater comfort and lower energy bills.

Analysts certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) visit your home to perform a Home Performance Assessment and provide a customized energy- and cost-saving action plan. If you choose to make energy efficiency improvements that achieve 20% energy savings using a Program Partner you will qualify for up to $2,000 cash back on a percentage of the job cost, in addition to utility rebates and tax credits!
Here is how it works step by step:
Step - 2 The Energy Audit

The state of Utah requires that each home owner who wishes to participate  in the Utah Home Performance Program, must have an energy audit performed on their home by a BPI certified auditor. The audit is completed in two parts the "test in" and the "test out". The "test in" will tell us if you qualify for the program (we can achieve a 20% reduction in energy cost). The "test out" is a re-test of the home to prove the improvements were made. The cost of the audit is $700,  $300 for the "test in" and $400 for the "test out". You will pay $300 the day the test is performed. You are required to pay the $400 for the "test out" upon compleation, but the program will reimburse that cost. You will receive the $400 reimbursement in addition to your rebate check.

The "test in" Includes

       1. Thermal Image Testing
       2. Blower Door Test (your home is depressurized to help find air leaks).
       3. All gas appliances are safety checked for proper combustion and ventilation.
       4. Insulation levels are checked for proper levels.
       5. Appliances are inspected for efficiency.
       6. Lighting is inspected for safety and efficiency.
       7. Utility bills are analyzed.
       8. 7-10 page report is created for you.

The "test out" Includes

       1. The above tests are re-done to insure quality control and safety.
       2. All work is inspected to insure our quality and workmanship standards are met.
       3. Report is compiled and submitted to the program.

Step - 4  Analyze the report findings, pick your projects & reserve your funds.

After the report is completed and reviewed a qualified consultant will return with your report to review what was found. The consultant will also be able to walk you through your options.

When you have decided which projects you want to get done, we create a scope of work and submit an application to reserve your funds. The program will review your test results and your application. Once they approve your application you are guaranteed the rebate funds as long as the scope of work is completed.
Step - 5  Scope of work is completed
Step - 6  Final Assessment "test out"

Your auditor will need a copy of your drivers license & Something to prove residency (copy of a utility bill is the easiest). He will need both of these to complete your application. He will also collect the $400 when he completes the "test out".
Step - 7  Submit for utility rebates and Home Performance Rebates.

We help you to complete all of your rebate applications.
